The challenge One video for everyone speaks to no one.

Ooredoo is a leading telecom group across the Middle East and North Africa; this engagement was with its Kuwait operation. For an iOS device exchange-offer in Kuwait, the goal was to move existing customers to buy on the Ooredoo platform and deepen loyalty — with communication that felt personal, in each customer’s own language.

Four requirements shaped the brief:

  • One-to-many didn't feel personal. Broadcast video couldn't speak to the individual customer or their cart.
  • An iOS exchange-offer to drive. Existing customers needed a reason to buy iOS devices on the Ooredoo platform.
  • Two languages, at scale. Every message had to land in the customer's language — English or Arabic.
  • Loyalty, not ad-fatigue. The brand wanted to reassure and upsell without feeling like an ad.
How Whilter approached it

One customer, one video.

Whilter generated hyper-personalised video at scale — each output built for one customer with their name, language and the product they were considering — bilingual in English and Arabic with AI voice cloning, delivered through an async pipeline: a customer list in over SFTP, a per-customer video URL out, ready for Gupshup to run in-app and over WhatsApp.

a · Strategy

Personal, not broadcast

A video generated for each customer — their name, their language, and the product they were looking at — instead of one message for everyone.

b · Solution

Bilingual 1:1 video at scale

Up to 5,000 personalised outputs, English and Arabic, with AI voice cloning for the dynamic lines.

c · Tech

An async generation pipeline

A customer CSV in over SFTP, a unique per-customer video URL out — ready to drop straight into the campaign.

d · Execution

Whilter generates, Gupshup delivers

Whilter produced the personalised video; Gupshup ran the campaign in-app and over WhatsApp.

  1. 1

    Define the personalisation matrix

Name, product image, product name and language mapped against each customer ID.

  2. 2

    Generate per-customer video

Up to a 20-second personalised video per customer, EN or AR, voice-cloned.

  3. 3

Return a unique URL per customer

Whilter returns the customer list with a unique video URL against each ID.

  4. 4

    Deliver in-app + over WhatsApp

Gupshup executes the campaign across Ooredoo's channels.

  5. 5

    Measure vs a non-personalised control

    Engagement compared head-to-head against a non-personalised baseline.

Why it worked

Relevance over reach

A video built for one customer beats one built for everyone.

In the customer's language

English or Arabic per recipient removed the friction of a foreign-language message.

Met them where they are

Delivered in-app and over WhatsApp, not another channel to check.

Reassure, don't advertise

Personalised, helpful framing lifted read and click without feeling like an ad.

The compounding insight personalisation moved every step of the funnel at once — more messages delivered, more opened, and more than double the clicks — because each customer got a video made for them, in their language, about the product they were actually considering.
